Hi! Welcome to my portfolio. My name's Irisa, glad to have you here :)
Below are some examples of accomplishments I've achieved so far in my career. My creativity and versatility is demonstrated through my ability to write for different audiences and diverse client portfolio, which includes food and beverage, CPGs, multinational corporations and financial institutions. I enjoy gaining an in-depth understanding of my client industries. I absorb information like a sponge, asking many questions and always wanting to learn more.
Through my agency background, I gained a demonstrable ability to proactively identify growth opportunities, expand my scope of work and take concrete steps to achieve results.
This also fostered my resourceful work ethic, which has enabled me creatively conceptualize and spearhead projects. All of this, along with my passion for connecting with people and sharing ideas, is what gets me up in the morning. Please feel free to take a look through. If you have any questions at all, you can reach me at irisahcchan@gmail.com!
At my core, I am a storyteller.
Throughout my internships at Edelman and Kaiser Lachance Communications and role at Proof Inc., I had the opportunity to write and develop first drafts of communications materials, including key messages, Q&A documents, media pitch notes, social media posts, blog posts, news releases, employee communications materials and request for proposals. Here are some examples!
Media relations is a heavy part of my public relations repertoire.
I see a story through the entire pitch cycle, from drafting pitch notes, to developing targeted media lists and pitching to reporters (including follow-up calls), coordinating interviews and compiling client-ready coverage wrap reports.
Here are some examples of my media wins:
As part of the Corporate Communications & Public Relations Post-Graduate program at Centennial College, students must plan and execute a fundraising event for a local charity of their choice.
Our client was the Children's Book Bank. I served as Project Lead for our event, Drinks & Jammies.
An ambitious undertaking, my group and I raised over $1700 on a $0 budget!
In my role as a database assistant at York University, I established and designed the framework for an internal database to track international partnerships. I also used this database and other programs to revamp parts of the international department's public website to ensure a more visually pleasing and user-friendly experience.
As a lover of design, I believe life is full of beautiful moments and images worth documenting.
Here are some of the favourites that I've captured:
